What are the Olympic Games?

In Room 5 we have been learning to write an explanation about the Olympic Games. We had to add who, what, when and where in the first paragraph.

What are the Olympic Games?

The Olympic Games are held every four years and are always held in different countries.  Many  athletes from all over the world come and compete against one another for 17 days in lots of sporting events. In the Olympics Games athletes compete with other athletes from other countries in events like swimming and cycling to win medals like bronze, silver and gold. Competitors also represent their home country. In the Olympics when athletes win, they compliment each other they try to be nice.
The Olympics are held every 4 years and always in different places. In 2012 The Olympics Games were held in London (Great Britain) this year the Olympics is being held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), next time it will be held in Tokyo (Japan) in 2020.
My conclusion on the Olympics is that it is a great way for countries of the world to get along.Ben
