Why do we have chairs
Last term we learned to write an explanation. This piece of writing is about why we have chairs. We had to say what would happen if we did not have chairs.
My opinion about chairs is that if we did not have them in the classroom you would not do that much work, you back would be sore and you also get sore legs.
Why Do We Have Chairs
I am writing about what would happen if we didn’t have chairs in the classroom. Chairs often have four legs, a back and a bit for you to sit on. I am going to write what would happen if we didn’t have chairs we wouldn’t be able to, concentrate, rest your back and we would have sore legs.
If we didn’t have chairs in the classroom we wouldn’t be able to concentrate. We would not be able to concentrate because we would get sore legs and we would be fidgeting a lot.
If we didn’t have chairs in the classroom we wouldn’t be able to rest our back. We wouldn’t be able to rest our backs because we would have to sit on the floor or stand up. We will also would get a sore back because we would have to bend over to see the Chromebook screen.
If we didn’t have chairs in the classroom we would have to stand up. If we had to stand up we would get sore legs. When it is morning tea or lunch time you would not be able to run or even jog.

Self-Portrait
This is my self-portrait. I used oil pastels for colouring in my face and background. One thing I learned was how to draw the eyes. Something I found difficult was doing the hair and features like the nose.

What are the Olympic Games?
In Room 5 we have been learning to write an explanation about the Olympic Games. We had to add who, what, when and where in the first paragraph.
What are the Olympic Games?
The Olympic Games are held every four years and are always held in different countries. Many athletes from all over the world come and compete against one another for 17 days in lots of sporting events. In the Olympics Games athletes compete with other athletes from other countries in events like swimming and cycling to win medals like bronze, silver and gold. Competitors also represent their home country. In the Olympics when athletes win, they compliment each other they try to be nice. The Olympics are held every 4 years and always in different places. In 2012 The Olympics Games were held in London (Great Britain) this year the Olympics is being held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), next time it will be held in Tokyo (Japan) in 2020.
My conclusion on the Olympics is that it is a great way for countries of the world to get along.Ben
The History of the Olympic Games
In Room 5 we have been learning to write a report about the history of the Olympic Games. We had to add who, what, when and where in the first paragraph.
The History of the Olympic Games
The ancient Olympics started in 776 B.C and went to 393 A.D The original Olympics took place in Athens, Greece and it happened every four years for 1169 years. The ancient games were part of a religious festival and only Greek men were allowed to watch.
In 1887 a man named Baron Pierre De Coubertin had an idea to remake the Olympic Games. Coubertin was a french man and lived in France.
The modern Olympics Games happen every four years and top athletes that can be men or women can participate in the events. In the years of 1916, 1940 and 1944 there was no Olympic Games because of the war.
In the ancient games winners got an olive wreath and now day's winners get medals. In the modern Olympics people from all over the world come and watch it, but in the ancient games only the Greeks watched.
