In class we have been reading a book called 'Refugee' by Alan Gratz. In the book Josephs father jumps off the boat the St Louis because he wants to go to Cuba but the police won't let the passengers. I made a picture story about the sharks circling him.

Maths DLO

This week for maths I have made a maths DLO (digital learning object) about area and perimeter.

Headphones

In class we have been learning to persuade the reading. We had to persuade the reading that we should or shouldn't have headphones.  I chose to go for headphones

Are you getting bored of listening to other people talk about their weekends? I think that most
children in schools all across the world are.

I think that children should listen to music while working and studying.

Children need headphones in schools to listen to music. It helps them focus on their work
because they cannot hear other children talk and if they play music out loud then they will
get annoyed and unfocused because someone might play a song that they do not like.

According to Business Insider (Link below) listening to music when you are working helps
you concentrate. It also states that in various studies, that people do more work faster,
and with fewer mistakes.  

If you are behind and you only have 10 or so minutes and you are getting stressed, listening
to music can calm you down and make you type faster. Help Scout and Study.com (links below)
says that listening to music makes you type faster and helps reduce  anxiety and even get rid of it.

In conclusion I think that children should listen to music while working. I also think that headphones
can help if you are stressed. If you are almost bored to death with school work then listening to music
might almost make you like school work. I said almost!!!

In class we have been reading a book called 'Refugee' by Alan Grazt. In the book there are 3 different storeys about 3 people.  Mine is about Mahmoud, we had to build the raft that he was going to Greece on Minecraft.  Another activite that I did is for Isabel who is on a boat to Miami. We had to make a poster that said Fight Against the Impossible and Win.
